About

You haven't met yourself yet. But the advantage to meeting others in the meantime is that one of them may present you to yourself. Examine the nature of everything you observe" (Waking Life, 2001).

The power of storytelling is more essential than ever. In a world where creatives may feel discouraged by censorship, book bans, and even burnings, I am here to champion artists looking to have their stories heard.

As an editor, I aim to amplify the voices of marginalized identities, celebrate inclusion, and advocate for equality in literature for readers of all ages. With over five years of publishing experience, I’ve had the privilege to work with authors from around the globe to transform their manuscripts from word documents to tangible books available in stores.

Being an internationally published author myself, I bring a unique perspective to the editorial process. I deeply understand how vulnerable it is to share my own work and receive feedback which is why I extend sensitivity and a collaborative spirit to every author I work with.

It is always a complete honor and joy to celebrate the publication days of each book I’ve been a part of. So, let me celebrate you!! With a BA in Creative Writing from The New School and a Certificate in Children’s Book Writing from UC San Diego, I’m comfortable working on a variety of projects and genres. Whether you have a completed children’s book, novel, poetry collection, or gift book, I can tailor my services to fit your publishing dreams.

If you have a children’s book, novel, poetry collection, or gift book, I’m delighted to help you hone your manuscript prior to publication. Explore the options below to learn about the variety of services I offer to support emerging and seasoned writers.

Full manuscript editing:

To account for differences in content, children’s book proposals are offered at flat rates while rates for books in the adult market are calculated based on word count. Rates include up to two rounds of revisions.

To begin, we will schedule a complimentary 30-minute introductory call to discuss your expectations, project, and goals. If you’d like to move forward at this stage, I will begin the editorial process.

For all projects, in the first round of revisions, you will receive a comprehensive reader report (including a plot summary and feedback on pacing, character development, dialogue, and any plot holes or inconsistencies) as well as track changes and comments outlining any grammatical or general edits.

Once this first round of revisions is complete, you can take as much time as you'd like to review and incorporate the feedback. At this time, we can schedule a second 30-minute call to go over any questions. This call is all about brainstorming and ensuring you feel energized and joyful about working on your next draft.

If desired, once you’ve incorporated edits as you see fit, I can review the manuscript again in its entirety to flag any remaining overarching or grammatical issues using track changes and comments.

Consulting:

Congratulations!! You have a finished and fully-edited manuscript that’s ready to send off to literary agents or publishers accepting unsolicited submissions. This means it’s time to start drafting your query letters.

Before diving in, you may want to better understand how your book fits into the current market and figure out how to best convey how the themes connect to forthcoming trends. Within traditional publishing, it can take about a year for a finalized and fully-edited manuscript to hit the shelves. Having a clear sense of trends can be essential for ensuring your book resonates with both agents and your audience's interests in the future.

To cover questions around trend forecasting and seeking representation, we will schedule a 30-minute call to discuss your project and review the key components of a strong query letter.

After our call, I will provide you with a short report highlighting your projects marketability along with specific comp titles so you can feel confident writing your letter.

Once complete, I will provide you with detailed feedback to ensure your synopsis is clear and engaging, your author bio is both professional and personable, and that your letter conveys how wonderful your book is!!

Sensitivity reading:

To begin, we will schedule a complimentary 30-minute introductory call to discuss your expectations, project, and goals. If you’d like to move forward at this stage, I will begin the sensitivity reading process.

For all projects, you will receive a comprehensive reader report focused specifically on areas related to gender, religion, neurodivergence, etc. This may include feedback on plot, characters, world building, and dialogue. Please note, this does not include feedback related to grammar or any structural editing.
