Piece Title: Chrysalis
Dimensions: 36” x 48”
Mediums: Watercolor, Gouache
Illuminating the beauty in transformation, ‘Chrysalis’ illustrates the vitality involved in periods of change. Just as caterpillars go through a metamorphosis to become butterflies, humans can take steps to become the greatest versions of themselves. Society rewards transformations which yield success; yet the process involved to get to that point is often unknown. Using layers of detail of varying shapes represents stages of growth. The prominence of black leading lines alludes to the innumerable paths and options everyone can take on their own journey. The designs do not fit together which demonstrates that the process of heading towards a personal perfection can be messy or complicated; yet the overall image or stage of life can still be beautiful.
‘Chrysalis’ is about empowerment for the adventure.
Everyone’s life is different and there are infinite possibilities to be explored.
Have trust in the process and take steps to grow...
