What Makes Your Heart Golden?

She thought out loud: “Kind of funny...”
“What?” he asked.
She smiled “Getting over you was the only way to get under you.”

Life is messy sometimes. Some situations are blurry and undefined. As simple as most things are, it is easy to get lost in fabricated complexities. On December 3rd the Supermoon coincided with Mercury going into retrograde for the fourth and final time this year. In astrology, Mercury rules travel, technology, and communication; therefore, when in retrograde those 3 things are affected. Later this week, wildfires burned through thousands of acres of land, decimating whatever lay in their path.

We are all interconnected with one another and nature. As the moon cycles through phases, as the tides shift, as planets orbit, and as natural disasters occur our own human-energy is impacted. I often relate these sorts of naturally occurring processes to the things I am trying to figure out in my life. I believe that there is so much to be gained from paying attention to how flowers simply sway with the wind, not against it. There is so much to learn about persistence just by watching the waves relentlessly  crash against the sand no matter how many times they are pulled away. So much can be understood by seeing how despite wildfires annihilating their surroundings, new plants bloom in time. Sometimes it takes strong winds and strong currents to remind us that blazing through everything and everyone you love can allow something new to grow instead.

“I hate small talk. I wanna talk about atoms, death, aliens, sex, magic, intellect, the meaning of life, faraway galaxies, music that makes you feel different, memories, the lies you’ve told, your flaws, your favorite scents, your childhood, what keeps you up at night, your insecurities and fears. I like people with depth, who speak with emotion from a twisted mind. I don’t want to know ‘what’s up’.”

Throughout this past week I have noticed patterns in conversations with many of my friends independent from one another. There has been a unanimous feeling  of confusion due to various misunderstandings and misinterpretations of actions or perceived actions. Everyone can use a reminder to slow down and refocus their energy on what it is that makes their heart golden. Take the time to communicate with intent. Slow down your thoughts to say what you mean not say something mean. Consider what makes you happy and do those things.

I think a wonderful exercise is to make yourself a list of all the different things that bring you joy. I am going to share a few things that make my heart golden along with some silly little things that made me happy this week to hopefully inspire you to create your own list.

If you do, please let me know in the comments and make sure to share a few things that make YOU happy too!!

Cheers.

Much love.
